DISC Interiors spins a studio conversion

Do you know what my favorite part of blogging is? When I get to shake my poms poms and be a cheerleader for friends' design work. My brilliant buddy David John of You Have Been Here Sometime, who is hard at work on his Masters of Interior Architecture at UCLA, recently opened a design studio. DISC Interiors is a Los Angeles-based full-service firm specializing in that stylish relaxed California look. Along with partner Krista Schrock, David recently completed a high-end studio space renovation for a young family with two children.

The versatile custom cabinets were designed by DISC.

The home's owner created the ceiling fixture with wire and popsicle sticks.

The tweed ottoman was designed by DISC.
Fabric: Thom Filicia for Kravet, "Marcellus" in Indigo.

Enzo task lamp from Jayson Home, Nina tapered table lamp by Visual Comfort, Spun Metal side table from Lawson-Fenning. The spotted ceramic jug is by Matthias Merkel Hess.

The doors, original to the house, were given new life with chalkboard paint.

Very nicely executed. I like the easy elegance of it and the obvious quality and comfort factor.
Well played.
Cheers, Alcira

"Oh my God...I love that big orange chair in the first picture".....Zipper [male old english sheepdog]. "It would be the perfect place to take a nap."

On a serious note....Big talent in those images.
