Gwyneth Paltrow set to make Veranda's House of Windsor extra GOOPy

Dumplings, do you remember last fall's decorator show house presented by Veranda magazine? It was called "The House of Windsor" and overseen by nutball "lifestyle architect" Windsor Smith (seriously, her picture is the dictionary illustration for "kooky"). Various and sundry celebrity designers were given rooms to run wild in, including a few cast members of "Million Dollar Decorators."

Word out of Los Angeles today is the Mandeville Canyon property has been scooped up and is soon to be GOOPed up by actress Gwyneth Paltrow and her hip elevator music-making husband Chris Martin. The house and grounds were originally listed for $11,960,000 but were recently reduced to $10,450,000. "[S]o the rumor goes, the Paltrow-Martins are in escrow for somewhere close to the asking price."

Who else thinks the Windsor Smith kitchen will remain untouched while Martyn Lawrence-Bullard's rumpus room will be the first space overhauled?

You've made my weekend calling Coldplay elevator music. I'm always telling my husband how lame he is for liking it. Of course I've already shared your post with him : )

OK, first that room goes. No question. Next, a brave volunteer must be found to gag Gwynnie.

Is it just me or does this stable look better than that hideous Rumpus room?

Anyway... KUDOS to whoever designed the stable. Can't do much with the rest of the house though.

So, do we think that kitchen is professional enough since she is all cheffy and whatnot? (I just looked up cheffy online in the urban dictionary - hilarious!)

Knowing GP, she will not touch the rumpus room. She strives to be different. I can see her now lounging on all the black lobes. M.

I'm not exactly sure what a rumpus is...but that just might be the perfect room for it, no?

"We must, we must, we must increase the busts! The bigger, the better, the bigger da elevator, we must, we must!"

I love the hallway that runs the length of the house. It reminds me of my sharecropper ancestor's dog trot house.
