In 2005, a health-care entrepreneur bought a waterfront Miami home from the lost Kardashian, "singer" and ex-American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez, and then hired Belgian designer Axel Vervoordt to Restoration Hardware-up the place. The result is about what you'd expect: enormous expanses of faux-finished gray walls, a dearth of furniture and a host of geographically-inappropriate touches.
The 12,000-square-foot house is now on the market for $40 million. Included are 7 bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, a 6,000-gallon koi pond, all of the furniture and BeeGee Barry Gibb for a next door neighbor. Perhaps Gary Friedman will scoop this up and fill it with coffee tables made of gym mats. After all, he does have some time on his hands these days.
