Your thoughts please

A designer friend of mine contacted me last week to get my thoughts on this feature in the latest Elle Decor. Among other things, I told her I was surprised it was in ED. It looks more like World of Interiors. Dumplings, what are your thoughts?

Ironically, today I opened and pointed in the big dictionary and the word was, "Princess."
Their plaque will look nice over the "fish mouth" FP.

The carpeted table bases bother me the most. I don't get it.

Is that AstroTurf on the floor under the banquet?
It looks like someone is studying hard at the Kelly wearstler school of interiors.

never care for an interior when very few elements relate to each other.
but that carpeting here, there and oddly everywhere....

I don't hate the bedroom, but I don't really love any of the rooms. It looks like it could have interesting archtecture after you cleared everything out.

Is that carpet I see everywhere?!

Kate and The Pink Pagoda - Yup, that's carpet. Everywhere.

Why is the carpet swallowing the tables?

Just found your site, awesome! I did not like this spread at all, it seems very cheap to me...like they didn't want to go to the expense of re-decorating. Probably has to do with pulling up (or down!) all that shag carpet...40years of ick in there is what I am thinking;)

So much carpet, so much built-in carpeted furniture. The art does not work with the rooms. The ship's conference room, I mean dining room, with its afterthought railings, a carpeted table base with no place for feet, and claustrophobic feel, is the worst of the lot, but the bedroom is working hard at winning. The whole place is looks like a late '70s Italian home that got a new owner in the early '90s.

I just keep hearing "beam me up, Scotty"...It looks like a poshed up version of the interior of the Enterprise.

And white carpet is NEVER a good thing in my world.

I really wouldn't walk around barefoot...just seems kind of old and gross.

Rocky Horror comes to mind . . . let's do the time warp, again.
