Bloomie's had such a talented group of young designer/decorators in that department. They had to suggest something Bloomie's carried first, most of the time that wasn't difficult because the store did its own importing and custom work, and had its own antiques department - but if Bloomie's didn't have what they needed for a design, they could go out into the market. Client first. Design first. Sigh.

I used to LIVE for the new room sets at Bloomingdales each season. Thanks for the trip down memory lane. (That top one is channeling Stanford White heavily)
