No.

Image via Pinterest.

As much as I love a Beni and Blu Dot's Strut series (I have the square coffee table in Olive), they are not the "YASSSS!" to every decorating question.

Also, I was going to unleash a torrent of snark on this apartment featured in The New York Times "Great Homes and Destinations [oh, really?]." But I'm getting soft in my middle age and if a pastiche of everything wrong with DIY plus wall-hung cat stairs are what you're feelin', then let your decorating freak flag fly.

Looks like most of that crap you find on DIY blogs (Someone needs to tell those two at YHL that you can shop at other stores besides Target, Ikea, Goodwill and Salvation Army.) and that damn Apartment Therapy.

You're like the kid who tells it like it is to the Emperor with his new clothes. (Funnily enough one of my DIYs was rejected from that particular site and I can't help but hold a grudge! lol) xx

@Brismod - One of my DIYs too and I as well, still hold a grudge! I felt mine took some actual talent and creativity, not just using a can of spray paint and then switching out the hardware with some mismatchy junk! Okay my griping is finished. (:

I just don't get this room. i just don't get it. I just don't get it. Why would anyone want to be in this room?

I don't mind the couch, tufting freak that I am, but the flowers only draw attention to the fact that the cushion isn't holding up.

This whole apartment reminds me of when I was much much younger and the home manager for Anthropologie. When I started working there none of it was very "me", but when you are around it all long enough sweaters with ruffles and mugs with initials and CRAP starts infiltrating into your life.

Likewise, this poor poor woman has probably lost sight of whatever personal style she has ever had because she works at Design Sponge and only ever sees the same recycled , re-blogged, and re- pinned ideas over and over again.
Shes been Anthropologized.

There are a few moments that i like.. but when a gal incorporates "cat stairs" into her design, and has way too many "neon pops".. she is obviously single and wants to stay that way.

And I hate her couch.

My barn cat would groove on that sofa; cats don't like velvet? Seriously??

I almost never read DS anymore, but checked in yesterday out of boredom. I immediately started grinding my teeth together on account of the art & how it's hung. Also, that couch and that rug should never have met.

I almost never turn over rocks to see what's wriggling underneath anymore, so I didn't click through for the full NYT slideshow.

I couldn't believe they gave two entire pages - the centerfold - plus a bit more, to this. Ugh.
