Life is too short to live ugly.
I lOVE it!
I like it. It actually looks like a home. Very cosy. xx
Interesting from a standpoint of how a famous person lives, but not so interesting from a design standpoint. It could be any grandmothers home I know! M.
Its kinda cute but I hate the way the art is hung...a bit too high. The "real" look of it is what I find most pleasing.
It's cheerful, layered, personal and not too deliberate. It looks like a nice place to spend the afternoon.
always fun to see how "they" live. interesting to see that their talents have limitations
That teal is a bit too 80s for me. And I think Kerry is right, the art is too high and far apart.
I love this room for a bunch of reasons: the book shelves are totally empty where she can't reach any way. The art needs to be brought in and down a bit, and best of all, own the same art book about gustav klimpt that she also has on her table.- it's phenomenal. Wrote about the book on my own blog. This is a very cool and real pic- thanks!Kate
I like it! Except the art is hung too high and too disjointedly (is that a word?). You know what I mean. :)
I agree with Elizabeth and Kerry.
Let me join the chorus about the art altitude. Aside from that, love to look at it but the curmudgeon in me couldn't live with so much happy color.
Although I'm a huge fan of color and the mix, this is just too much of a good thing.
I was just looking at that Vogue feature last night! The whole place is just so bright and weird, slightly wild and very eccentric and it completely makes sense for its inhabitant. For that reason alone, I'd say it succeeds brilliantly.Plus, I'm not convinced Florence Welch is from our dimension of reality. As mere Earthlings, we may be improperly equipped to judge her.
love love love love... hope you are having a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Tami Rebekah - Thank you, Sweetheart!! I am and I got the best present from the Hubs - a DeWalt laser distance measurer! I've wanted one for ages.
I love color but I don't want to be hit over the head with it. If this were my home, and I wanted to use something like these colors, the colors would have to be muted or toasted.
Happy Birthday !!!
sewbetsy - Thank you, Sugar! I'm currently enjoying the aftereffects of the world's largest margarita. :)
oh wow...happy birthday too!As for Flo's house,I do love, love, love that color on her walls...and the purple lampshade too. That couch, however...well....
jason - Thanks, Punkin! My 6-year-old was terribly disappointed that I did not order the rock-em sock-em robots cake as she had requested. She'll make a fab event planner.
Hey! Happy birthday, awesome lady! I'm in agreement with the art being terribly placed on that wall. The color of the walls are not for me, but I do like the way the colors are combined. With a few tweaks to the room, I could definitely sit in there.
lucitebox - Thanks for that, Sweetie! It was a good day and nobody got hurt. ;)
It makes me happy. I want to read the sunday nytimes there.
Bareback pony rides around the Barbie Dream House, Raina?Oh, this house reminds me of a Nola shotgun house. Her dresser drawers are a mess, but a beautiful mess. Leave her alone. She's creative.
My main thought is: What's the framed thing on the upper left? And Happy Birthday!!
A - A reminder, which I shouldn't have to tell you as you claim to be a longtime reader, I don't always find that spaces I post on YPT to be offensive. Just provocative.
The Pink Pagoda - Thanks so much, Miz J!
Man, I suck. Happybelatedbirthday Raina! I hope you are still enjoying the after effects of the worlds largest cocktail even if it is two days later. Have another, my little guy is 6 today! As for Flo's place and the arrangement of her art, I think it all seems to suit her perfectly.
Heather - Thanks, Babe! Having a birthday on a Monday is a great kick-off to the week.
Blecch. Xo, Sherri
