Life is too short to live ugly.

So Marcia- Bradyish! grew up on the Brady Bunch and loved their house and the girls groovy hair:)
How fun, the last one for sure. You could not find your way to the door.
oh, I love this post. and remembering my old teenage room. probably most like the second - stuff hung everywhere, huge bulletin board. candles and incense and posters...oh my!
Very messy but I felt the need to hang hubcaps, street signs and odd art next to my little girl canopy bed.
White walls, blue fabric under the chair rail trimmed in blackwatch plaid. Very preppy. Which is probably why I'm not very preppy now.
Marcia Marcia Marcia! Mine was so groovy!
Our house was tiny and we didn't have much money. My younger sister got the bedroom. I slept in a single bed in the dining alcove off the kitchen. My bedside table was a TV table (remember those?). My toys were in a box beside the TV table and my clothes were hung in my parents' closet. If I remember correctly, the walls were yellow and my bedspread was brown plaid.
Large chrysanthemum wallpaper, matching Ethan Allen dark pine dresser, dry sink, secretary desk, gold and white shag pile, hanging plants, yellow gold ginger jar lamp, cloisonne vases. And a closet full of size 3 clothes from the mall. Decorated for me, by me, always neat and tidy.Marcia's room was hideous, as was her taste in boys.
Absolutely not. All my clothes were hung in order. All the blouses facing the same way and color grouped from white to black. I an 78 years old and they are all still hung the same way.
Hot pink wall to wall carpet, light mauve walls, oak furniture, one wall wallpapered with a tiny purple rose pattern, the opposite wall in a purple/pink/mauve/beige vertical watercolor stripe, big paper lantern from Pier 1, matchy-matchy bed in a bag... oh, The Eighties....
Unicorn wallpaper and Shawn Cassidy posters. Classics!
I wish I kept pictures of mine, it was olive green with big flowers on the sheets. I always had animals in my room besides the basset hounds my mom raised. I had mice, a chameleon and a huge gold fish. Funny, haven't thought about that in a very long time.xo Nancy
I always wanted a white bedroom suite, but my mom thought that wood, and by that I mean plywood with faux bois, looked more expensive....hhhmmm. I am still bitter. Other than that catastrophe, lots of pink, dolls and ruffles; which in my opinion all would have looked better with a white set;)
Pink walls. Olive green carpet. Gave up the double bed so I'd could have a twin "sofa bed", a large desk, a huge bulletin board with bookcases underneath. I painted my furniture a shade of green and thought it looked great! A friend of my mother's who owned a large furniture store told me my room was the only room in the house that had "style". Made me smile for years...until I left home and my parents changed it to look like the rest of their house!
