Happy Holidays from the Rocky Mountains!

At the end of our street is a rolling meadow where elk gather. Yesterday afternoon, a large herd was enjoying a snack and paying us no mind. A woman who was lost drove up asking for directions back to the highway. Her eyes bugged and she asked, "Do you get to live with this every day?" I smiled and replied, "Yes, I'm very blessed."

Happy Holidays, Dumplings, from the heart of the Rockies!

More of our occasionally noisy neighbors.

Someone's cat has been hanging out on our front porch but that's all we got. Elk are WAY cooler!

You all must feel so blessed to live in such a beautiful place. It must be amazing to be so close to nature.
I hope you and your family will lead a very happy life up in the mountains :)

ELK! The first time I saw them, up in Estes Park, i had to scroll through my mental rolodex to figure out what they were... Moose? no. Reindeer? no. Antelope? no. Buffalo? no. Elk never even made the cut.
