Ruthie Sommers brings the pretty

The original Domino cover girl Ruthie Sommers is sharing her 90-acre California ranch in the newest Lonny. It's a dreamlike getaway nestled in the Santa Ynez mountains, the prettiest sleepaway camp in the history of ever. Let's all take a little mental vacation, to recuperate and recover from last week's imposed family time...

a dream indeed, just the thought of 90 acres in ca.is unimaginable. great interiors, however, the mini lamp with gingham shade on the pine chest is disturbing......

My take: "Ruthie brings the annoyance." It comes off as ultra-staged to me, not quirky and casual. Just my bitter, bitter take.

Thank you so much for posting my home on your site!
I actually was not going to shoot the house until I was 60 or something. But I had an experience recently ( I was in LAX security line during the crazy shooting) and I decided that life is short.
I love Lonny and the editor and what they are trying to do. So I let them into my home as it is always, unstaged and unfinished. I bought things from super thrifty stores if I needed them. Like that lamp-I needed a lamp in that room for my guests.
Items were bought out of necessity and love and not caring if they looked perfect for a shoot ( which every designer can tend to think about ) -
Thanks for posting
Ruthie

Well dang a comment from Ruthie herself! I love her carefree, super chic style. Looks like it would be so easy to achieve but we all know it's not. Thanks for posting these photos, I have not had an opportunity to view the online mags lately!

I grew up in Paso Robles, CA and spent LOTS of time in Santa Ynez. Such a beautiful landscape - and what a charming home. xo

That vanity bench paired with the oriental is luscious.
