Lilly Pulitzer for Target

(click any photo to enlarge)

Yesterday, Target announced its latest designer collaboration
with Lilly Pulitzer, bowing April 19th.

Sororities south of the Mason-Dixon line have declared it a national holiday.

The line will feature 15 exclusive new prints.

"[T]he 250-piece collection includes apparel, accessories and shoes for women and girls, as well as home accents, outdoor entertaining accessories,
beach gear, travel essentials and more."

This WASP-y collection is chock full of enough sunshine
to make even this Hebrew want to change her name to "Muffy"
and drunkenly assault the pool boy.

This long time Lilly-devotee is very excited. I even worked is a Lilly store as a technical consultant some years back. I only hope they don't screw it up like some of their other collaborations that were full of extremely poor quality goods.

Leave the pool boy alone, I saw him first!

I live in Palm Beach County, the home of this look. Maybe some of the home goods or a scarf but have had bad luck with any of the clothing from previous collaborations. Very poor quality.

LMoore _ I know Joseph Altuzarra held Target's feet to the flames over quality with his recent collabo, so maybe they learned a thing or two.

Completely hilarious! Duffy!

In 1967 I arrived in Palm Beach to visit.....and made total best friends with my still best friend..Britty (not quite Muffy) I was from Pasadena California.....(Southern California.) and I should have just bought every single Lilly thing I could find and every single of "Mario" (or whatever his name was who was from Positano who made those Jack Rogers)!

I bought enough for myself; and I was all the rage at USC (not South Carolina...Southern California) and, if I had a brain in my head.....and hadn't been studying I would have opened a Lilly store in Los Angeles!

She was a genius...and a darling woman.....and she just left us!

I, too , hope the quality of the clothes will live up to her!!

Call me whatever you like, the napkins will be finding their place on my table. I also hope that the quality is better than usual.

So, funny thing - this truly Southern girl is not a fan of Lilly. I know. I know. It's blasphemy down here. But I had to own up. M.

As a former sorority girl south of the Mason Dixon line, I can honestly say I've never worn her clothes. But my daughter did when she was a tiny, chubby pre-schooler. Girl could rock some shift dresses. I agree about the quality - only time will tell. Thinking the scarves and tableware will probably sell best. Kayce Hughes here in Nashville is Lilly's niece. She couldn't be nicer and is carrying the preppy fashion torch admirably!
