Were these chairs kneecapped?

Via Pinterest.

In a weird sort of happenstance, I came across these two images within an hour of each other. Which totes means the design gods - Dagny, Sylvia and Frank - were telling me to pay attention. Something looked off, literally. Like maybe the legs. Is this a thing now, Dumplings, these low-rider chairs?

Anthropologie Larana chair, $1298.

Connor was having such trouble getting into his favourite chair that i took all of the feet off the chair and the ottoman. It looked like low-rider land. I just put them back on and things look normal again. Just gotta figure out what I am going to do with his chair... recover or get a new one.

Wow. Alice in Wonderland chairs. The scale is confusing. I especially like that both chairs are either upholstered or slip covered in wrinkly fabric, so you can spend 1200 bucks for the Ikea look.

Kathy - Chair #1 is borderline low-rider for me, and, weirdly enough, I kinda dig Chair #2. It would never fly in our house because my husband and I are both tall. #2's seat height is barely over 14".

The best looking best-proportioned chairs I have seen in months.....(maybe years!!) Not too fat arms; love the seats.....a little to short....easy to fix. Especially love the first one! especially the fabric!

Refreshing!!!

My take.....and my opinion only!!

There is a very rough crowd on the internet now. And it is getting uglier and rougher. I may have to leave. Probably no one will miss me and my opinions.

Kinda sad for me. I'll get over it. Ugliness turns me off so quickly......just like a light switch!!!

"OFF"!!!!

My Dad is really short at 5'4". I can't look at these chairs and not think about how the proportions would be just right for his legs.

They did that because after you pay $1298 plus tax for a chair, you can't damn well afford an ottoman to put your feet up on, now, can you? This way you can just stretch your legs out on the floor while you hold your empty wallet to your ear and listen to the ocean.
