Nothing can keep a bad store down

I have missed Z Gallerie like Donald Trump misses seeing his feet. Meaning not all that much. Like many a decor chain this year, Zoinks declared bankruptcy but was lucky enough to find a buyer. I should say lucky for us because shopping there is just too glam. No, seriously, they have art to prove it!

Because we live in a world where an actual handmaid is nominated for the Supreme Court, let's enjoy for a moment an easier, breezier bedazzlement:

First up is a knock-off of a chandelier from Carlo Nason's "Triedri" series for Venini, described by Zoinks as "deco-influenced." Never mind Nason was a confirmed Modernist who designed this series in the 1960s.

With glassware to match!

Zoinks is still selling these, the design for which is - can you believe? - nearly 20 years old. The top half of my bum gets cold reliving Naughties decor.

From their commemorative Pandemic Collection, the Bubonic Plague pillow. Nothing says chic like the Black Death.

Speaking of pillows, this is peak Zoinks - velvet, sequins, and a bull skull. I mean, how many exotic dancers could Dallas and Houston possibly have?

Forgot about Z Galleries! It feels like a century since I've been to a shopping mall, so didn't notice they were gone from our local one. Thanks for the update.

Rainia, I think the Black Death pillows could be used to show friends and neighbors that you survived the coronavirus, and your use of them insouciantly in your decor is a signifier that much like Cheetolini himself, you shall rise victorious! Or that is what I think Z marketing should be thinking of before these pillows end up in a clearance bin.
